Whales are one of the most fascinating creatures on the earth. I had the pleasure of spending a day out on the ocean with my new wife viewing and interacting with several pods of whales.
We were picked up from our accomodation at some ungodly hour and taken to the marina. There we boarded a beautiful vessel called Shayla, and yes that was a shameless plug. Brent and his wife Amanda obviously love what they do and do what they love. Brent has been doing the full day whale watch cruises for nigh on 13 years and he knows his stuff.
So we spent the entire day out in Hervey Bay and I enjoyed every last second of it. You feel a little humbled when a 45 tonne creature ambles up to your 5 tonne boat and just "has a look".
